Personal Information, David Booth:
Hello,
my name is David Booth, welcome to my website. In the few paragraphs below I set out some of my background experience with Jensen Healeys so that you will feel confident when placing an order that you are dealing with someone who is
knowledgeable and has an empathy with the cars.
I began my love affair with Jensen Healeys when I bought a Malaga Blue MkII in 1974. Having owned MGBs for several years previously, I was immediately impressed by the dramatic improvement in handling and performance. At the time I was regularly covering 500 miles per week, sometimes with heavy loads in the
boot, and needed total reliability. I was not disappointed, over the next few years I covered more than 130,000 enjoyable miles in a
succession of Jensen Healeys.Over that distance,it would be foolish not to expect a few mechanical
problems, but the cars always got me to my destination.
In 1983 I stopped using my Healey as everyday transport and began the first of many Jensen Healey restorations. Since then my restored cars have won their class on seven occasions in the Jensen Owners Club annual concours, won national concours at the Town and Country Motoring Festival at Stonleigh and
received a bronze award at the "100 Years of Motoring Exhibition" at the NEC.
I was invited to become a committee member of the Jensen Owners Club ( http://joc.org.uk
) in 1984 and have been advising and helping members with Jensen Healeys and Jensen GTs in my role as Jensen HealeyRegistrar and Technical Advisor ever since.
